Giho is rare Filipino wood, favored by seamen and fishermen for its oily composition that tends to repel water for longer periods of time.  It makes sense that this Balilia Giho Wood Flat Sword can also be used as an oar.

Just like Kamagong, Giho wood is best for hand carving into decorative training weapons; great for swinging, and for striking & harming opponents, but not meant for wood on wood contact.  Each Giho weapon is completely unique, with slightly different colors and patterns.
