We will be running double elimination brackets. (1st loss - competitor can still win championship.)
We try to separate brackets based on skill & experience levels. The number of brackets, and competitors in each bracket, depends on how many people sign up to compete. (Separate women's divisions and teen divisions can be created of there are enough competitors to make a bracket.)

***Tournament Rules of Kombat:***
The object of tournament combat matches is to strike opponent with weapon, without being struck back. A point is scored when a competitor's weapon makes contact with their opponent, and no weapon contact is returned for a full count of 2 seconds. A clash of mutual strikes between competitors will not score any points.
The time limit for each regulation combat match will be 1 minute. The competitor with the most points scored will be the winner. In the case of a tied match, the winner will be determined by a "sudden death" overtime: the competitor who earns the first point will be the winner.
Each combat match will be controlled by a referee. The referee will determine moments of weapons contact, and will award points. The referee has the authority to reset the combat action for any reason to ensure the safety of the competitors.
Tournament combat matches will be fought using a double elimination bracket. 1st loss - competitor can still win championship. 2nd loss - competitor is eliminated from competition.
Weapons for combat matches will be provided by the tournament production. Protective face mask and gloves are required, and must be provided by each competitor.
