Koto (Knobkerrie) - Lesotho, Africa
Koto (plural: Likoto) is the Sesotho word for the traditional southern African weapon, also known as a Knobkerrie. These weapons are typically hand carved from Kiaat wood, leaving an approximate 2-inch ball at the end. Likoto were designed specifically for battle, with the intent to club your enemy's head with a hefty blow or a well aimed throw.
Members of Team KIL were able to procure some Likoto during their travels to Africa. While most available Likoto were made as decorations for tourists, we were able to find a few Likoto that were handcrafted by weapons makers in Lesotho.
