Colas Mata "Small" Slicer - Philippines

During Team KIL's recent trip to the Philippines, we traveled to Davao City to visit the famous Colas Mata Blacksmith Shop.  This is where many of the country's agricultural blades are forged.  Team KIL was given a private tour of their facility to observe their blade-making processes, both modern and traditional.  We brought a few of these blades back home for you.

These blades are individually forged by local Filipino bladesmiths.  They have a long and storied tradition of using salvaged materials and antiquated machines to create working agricultural blades that can also be used as weapons.  There may be slight imperfections in these blades that reflect this rustic jungle culture.  According to the craftsmen, these are not considered flaws because each blade is still capable of performing its intended function.
